Meet Ms. Kerri
Kerri Sox
Studio Director
Ms. Kerri hails from a family of musicians and music teachers, and has been teaching music to children for over 30 years. She has been involved with music all her life, beginning piano lessons at age four, and continuing on to award-winning years as a piano soloist, including the prestigious Piano Guild exams. Kerri graduated from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, where she excelled as an accompanist and instrumental and vocal soloist, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance and Music Theory. She was a featured soloist at her Baccalaureate ceremony. Following her college years, Kerri worked as an in-demand studio musician with some of the most prominent Christian musicians in Nashville for five years.
Kerri began teaching piano in 1990 while she was in high school. She continued to teach throughout her college career and beyond, finally becoming a full-time piano teacher in 2000. She enjoys watching her students progress as they learn to play all kinds of music. Kerri focuses on the creativity and ability of each individual student, always taking into account the student's learning style and interests. She also loves to incorporate games into her piano lessons as a means of reinforcing piano and music theory concepts.
